Has it really been that long??

Short and sweet.  I'll try to catch-up tomorrow.  It's been CRAZY at work.  End of month / end of quarter.  Anyway, working out is just okay.  My husband is out of town so I can only do so much.  Worked in the yard all day Sunday.  It was a welcome relief.  Hope to do the same again this week.  Was supposed to go bike riding but looks like the trails will be too wet.  It was a family ride.  I was really looking forward to it.

2 weeks until the Georgetown Poppy ride.  Kelley, look for my email.  Let's hook up.  Janna and I are going to do 62 miles.  I'm excited.  Hope she's ready.  I KNOW YOU ARE JANNA!!

Just wanted to let yall know I'm still here and plugging along.  It's just been crazy.  Keep it up.  Don't let that cookie get the best of you!

    Another Great Workout

Man I had another great workout day yesterday.  At lunch I was kind of tired but managed to squeak out 40 minutes on the stairs.  Then last night I got to the gym early again so I went outside for a 2.25 mile jog.  Then I came back inside and jogged 1 mile on the treadmill.  I would do it all outside but the wind gets the better of me.  Once the wind dies down I'll do more jogging outside.  I jog over to a grave yard and they have a really nice paved walking trail that is .3 miles around.  I jog that and then jog back to the gym.  Seems kind of oogy if you think about it too hard.  But there's LOTS of walkers out there and they even have a sign of rules for walkers.  Weirdo, but it's working for me.  Anyway, then I did my personal trainer session.  We didn't do the dips but we did chin ups.  Bonnie took 2 plates off the weights and I still managed to do 10, 10 and then 12!!!  Rock on!!!  Then she made me do boy push-ups.  I did 3 sets of 10.  That's alot for me!  I can do 60 girls push-ups, but when she very first made me do boy push-ups (back in the day - hehe) I couldn't even do 1!!!  So my upper body is def coming along.

    Workout Report

Man I had a great workout yesterday.  I got to the gym early and decided to jog OUTSIDE!  It was awfully windy.  About 25 MPH.  But it just felt good.  So I jogged for 2 miles outside.  Had enough of the wind so I went inside the gym and jogged for 2 miles on the treadmill.  Then we jumped right in to my personal training session.  I was huffing and puffing the whole time.  We hit it hard and fast.  It was GREAT!!  I wish they could all be like that.  My trainer and I talk alot so sometimes we take longer breaks in between sets.  Not last night.  We just kept on going!  AWESOME!

Going back tonight for upper body.  I'm kicking butt on that stupid tricep dip and chin up machine.  Chin ups are still hard.  Mainly cuz I'm so dang fat.  But I'm kicking major butt on the tricep dips.  I told my trainer that if I ever lost all this fat I'd have a killer body.

GO ALI!  I've jumped ship from the blue team and am now rooting for Ali.  She is kicking major booty.  I can't believe she lost another 7 pounds.  That's just amazing.  SHE IS MY HERO!!

    Weekend Report

Go Dusty Go Dusty Go Dusty!  Yeah me!  Went to Kerrville for the bike rally.  Saturday we did 70 miles.  The weather was perfect.  We had mainly gently rolling hills with a couple climbs.  I felt great the whole day.  And while I was ready for the break, I think I could have squeezed out another 10 miles.  I didn't even crash afterwards.  I didn't get up and run around, but I felt fine.  It was truely an awesome day.

Sunday the wind was really picking up so we scratched the bike ride and went hiking.  It was a nice change of pace.  We had a great time and the views were awesome.

This is definitely the way to spend Easter.  I told my husband that this will be our Easter tradition.  No more overeating at the family's and picking up eggs full of chocolate.  From now on it's outdoors and exercise.

The weekend was very rejuvinating.  I'm working towards the Shiner Bash 100 mile ride.  This really showed me how prepared I am.  I have about a month to get fully ready for the 100, but I know now I'm well on my way.  It was definitely what I needed mentally.

And this week the weather is supposed to be gorgeous.  IT'S GARDENING TIME!!  I love to work in my yard.  I spent an hour outside last night pulling weeds and laying fertiziler.  I could spent every night doing that.  I just love being outside working.

I hope everyone is rested and ready for a great week.  Get out and live! ~ DJ

    Upcoming Activities

Really looking forward to my biking weekend.  Hope the rain holds off on Sunday.  I sure want to get two good days of riding in.  I'm going to do the Shiner Bash on May 3 (about 100 miles) so I'm using this as part of my training.  My friends are going over to Enchanted Rock to hike after the ride.  They're "only" doing 40 miles so they'll be done long before me.  If I have time and energy we may drive over there and hike around a bit.  It's not that far from our campsite.  And I LOVE Enchanted Rock.  So does my son.  His uncle will be taking him over there during the day.

So that's what's on my agenda for Easter.  Biking.  YEAH!!   Hope everyone is safe.  STEP AWAY FROM THE EASTER BUNNY!!! Angel

    Day Off

Yesterday I could not get motivated to exercise.  So I just didn't.  At least I didn't just sit at home on my big ole' butt and watch TV.  I've been working on refinishing my cabinets for over a year.  So I worked on that project for a couple hours.  Did a little housework.  Cooked dinner (chicken stir).  So I was moving around all night.  I sat down about 9:15 PM.  I think I mentally needed the break from exercise.  The last several days have been so hectic I need time to get my life back in order.  My house isn't all that clean yet, but I feel much more organized mentally today.

Today is stairs with my co-workers.  I haven't done the stairs in over a week now.  They've added another flight so we're up to 80 flights up/down plus 5 flights of cool down.  We walk up 20 / down 20 / up 20 / down 20 / up 20 / down 20 and now another up 20 / down 20 and then end with 5 flights of sprinting.  So all told it's 85 flights up and 85 flights down.  When we add a flight, that really means another 20.  So it's a pretty good workout.  Then tonight I meet with my personal trainer.  So it's a big exercise day for me and I'm ready.

My eating is out of whack though.  Yesterday I had oatmeal (130 cal), soup (120 cal), apple (100 cal), chicken stir fry (250 cal) AND A WHOLE BUNCH OF CANDY!!!  What's up with that????  Today I told myself that I don't want to put weight back on for CANDY.  AM I CRAZY?????  There's candy everywhere!  At work and at home.  My son had his easter party at school last week.  I'm going to have to go home and throw it away.  Otherwise I say "It's just one bite size snickers."  Until I've eaten 4 snickers and 2 packs of skittles!  That's definitely not going to work.  So I'm really focusing today.

I forgot to tell yall that we redid my measurements with my trainer.  3 inches lost in the stomach.  2 inches lost in the hips.  ONE INCH GAINED IN THE THIGHS.  I looked at her with horror.  She said we would change my leg routine so that I'm doing less weight but more reps.  My thighs are fat enough.  I sure don't need them to be bigger.  Even if it is muscle!  I'll redo my body fat in 2 weeks.  I'm hoping to be down another 1.2% for a total of 6% body fat lost.  That's kind of alot to loose in one month.  BUT I WILL DO IT!!!

So lately has been an up/down good/bad thing for me.  Even in my downs I'm doing better than before.  So that's an up too!  Just have to keep putting one day at a time.

    Biker Chick for Sure!

WOW.  I can't believe it's been 5 days since my last blog.  I'm glad my crazy hectic schedule has come to an end.  The weekends will be crazy busy, but at least the weeks will settle back into normal.

Saturday I went mountain biking for my sister's bday.  WHAT A BLAST!  Every time I get out and mountain bike it makes me realize how much more I want to ride!  I hope I take the time to do more of it this summer.  I will be in Kerrville this weekend doing a bike ride.  It's a road ride on Saturday and Sunday.  A couple of us are trying to psych ourselves into doing the century (100 miles) ride.  I'm not certain we'll do it, but we'll at least do the 60 on Saturday and 40 on Sunday.

I felt good riding on Saturday.  Like I was strong and had alot of energy.  Hopefully I will feel the same this weekend.  Weather is supposed to be perfect for riding.

Hope everyone is keeping at it.  I slacked off on the eating the past few days, but didn't go overboard.  Definitely room for improvement there.  But being back on the normal schedule should help that.

It's not over till the scale says so....

First - OMG!!!  What's up with not kicking someone off last night????  I nearly had heart failure.  By now you know I'm not a fan of Brittany.  I think she's a self righteous whiner.  Misty likes her b/c she's very competitive.  I'll admit I do like that about her.  But when the going got tough, she quit.  I was so excited to see her below the yellow line.  I really hope they vote her off next week.  I might have a stroke before then.  GO ALI GO ALI, IT'S YOUR BIRTHDAY, NOT REALLY, DO IT ANYWAY!!  In your face black team.  Ali deserves all the kudos.  She has worked so hard and it's paying off.  I am a tried and true blue team fan, but I would stand up and shout and cheer if Ali wins.  She definitely deserves it!  Dan had us laughing out loud with his kilojouls (sp???) talk!!

Second - more about me.  I wanna talk about me!  (Are all you country fans singing that song now???)  Misty is in town and she got a chance to work out with my trainer last night.  Bonnie took it easy on her, but she's still going to be sore today.  Hahaha.  That's what she gets for not working out more! Wink  She'll get another chance to work out with Bonnie on Thursday.  Last night was lower body and Thursday is upper body.  Misty won't be able to move by the time she goes home!  But MJ did get signed up for her PT sessions in Round Rock.  She's worked out with Jeff once.  She said he was a little easy, but that she could tell she had a good workout.  So I'm proud of her for getting started.

My crazy 10 day schedule is in full swing.  I barely can remember what day it is.  But one day at a time.  I did great yesterday.  I skipped my stairs workout, but did workout on the elliptical 40 minutes and do my PT session.  Eating was good.  In line with what I should be doing.  So I chalk yesterday up as a good day.  Now all my focus is on today.  Do the best I can do today.

I'm glad several of us want to continue on this journey, regardless of who ends up in LA.  I think this site really keeps us focused on the big picture.  Knowing there are others that are out there struggling as well.  So keep it guys!  We've only just begun!!

    Weekend 1 - Dusty 0

If I had to choose a winner, I'd say the weekend got the better of me.  Friday was okay.  We had Pei-Wei for lunch (lettuce wraps and kung pao chicken).  I didn't overeat but by dinner time I wasn't hungry so I didn't eat anything.

Saturday started out good then got off track in the afternoon.  I ate some of my son's fries at lunch.  At least I didn't order my own fries.  I had a small salad, some turkey breast (BBQ) and then some of his fries.  We worked in the flower bed for about 3 hours after lunch.  So that's good.  Went to Applebee's for dinner.  I had the shrimp and spinach salad and a couple cheese sticks.  The salad only has about 300 calories but the fat content is pretty high.  I guess from the oil in the dressing.  Then of course the cheese sticks.  So I don't think my calorie count was way out of proportion, but I'm certain I ate way too much fat.

Sunday I was sick.  So I had an energy bar, a bowl of soup and then a whole bunch of cheese!  That's what I ate for dinner.  CHEESE!!  Again, probably the right amount of calories for the day, but way too much fat!  No exercise since I didn't feel good.  Doh - almost forgot about the yogurt raisins I ate.  So I definitely was on the high end of my calorie count, but not way over.

Yes, it could have been worse.  I'm going to have to start focusing on the fat content of food.  I way over did the fat this weekend.  The bright side - I didn't just gorge myself on alot of bad food.  I could have easily let myself eat twice as many calories as I did.  So that's my silver lining for the weekend.

    Winter Weather

I'm sure you folks up north are just laughing at us down here.  Driving around like crazy people; closing schools.  All this just in anticipation of snow!!  The news drives me crazy.  They report on NOTHING expect weather.  Even though it turned out a lot better than they predicted!  They have to report on something, even if it's nothing.

Anyway, due to the crazy drivers and basically all highways being shut down due to accidents, our firm closed early yesterday.  It worked in my favor.  I had to run an errand before my personal training session so I was afraid I wouldn't be able to get my cardio in.  But since we got out early I was able to make it to the gym in time to jog.  YEAH!  One more day of cardio done.  I was telling my PT about my crazy schedule for the next 10 days and she agreed.  Take it one day at a time.  Do the best I can do that day and then forget about it.  Good or bad, just let it go.  So I'm not going to try and come up with some unrealistic schedule that drives me and my family crazy.  I'm just going to do whatever I can do in that day and then move on.  That's more realistic and that's how life works.

So I'm a little more optimistic about the next several days.  It is what it is.

    Job Well Done

Yesterday was a pretty good day all around.  I did my pilates class, which I'm loving.  Then went to the gym and jogged for 4 miles.  Then worked out my lower body and shoulders with my personal trainer.  I felt really good when I got home last night.  The only bad thing was I didn't eat nearly enough!  Wow.  Don't say that very often.  On my way to the gym I counted my calories for the day.  I probably ate about 450 calories by 5:30 PM.  Not nearly enough.  I jogged THEN ate my protein bar.  My protein bar is 300 calories.  Rounding up that's 800 calories by 8:45 PM!  So I went home and had two soft chicken tacos.  I allowed myself to splurge a little and added cheese and sour cream (low fat).  So I probably ended up around 1400 calories.  But since I did three workouts yesterday, I really should have eaten more.  So today I'm really going to focus on getting in more calories before I hit the gym.

The next 10 days are going to be crazy for me.  I'm going to have to focus every day on eating right and getting in my exercise.  For a variety of reason, I won't be on my normal routine.  Lots of eating out planned (bdays, family get-togethers, friends in town, etc).  So starting today, I'm focusing on one day at a time.  I have to do the very best I can today.  Usually my schedule is pretty set for the week with little variation.  But not these next 10 days.  I'm a little nervouse but I CAN DO IT!!!

Tonight we're taking my measurements at the gym.  Excited and nervous!

    Hallelujah!

Boy, it's been a stressful few days here.  MJ had a slight scare with the baby, but everything is good now.  My other sister's boss fell and hit his head.  Ended up with blood on the brain and eventually died.  All in a few short days.  Today was the funeral.  Now they're shutting the company down so she's frantically looking for another job.  Glad things seem to be picking up.  The good thing is, I didn't over eat / stress eat.  If anything, I didn't eat as much.  That's a complete opposite of what I used to do.  I would always use the stresses of live to overindulge and have lots of Mexican food.  This time, I just really focused on not turning to bad food.  Of course, Girl Scout Cookies are not bad food. Wink  That was my biggest cheat.  LOVE ME SOME GS COOKIES!!!

Didn't hit the gym Monday night.   Just too tired and stressed out.  Yesterday I accomplished one of my goals: DOING THE STAIRS IN 40 MINUTES!!  Actually, I did them in about 39 min 50 sec.  I was booking it!  No one at worked could believe I did them that fast.  I was dying but I was bound to make it.  YEAH ME!!!  Party

Tonight I'm definitely hitting the gym.  I have a personal training session.  Tomorrow she is going to take my measurements.  She would tonight, but I'll do my cardio before she gets there.  She likes to do the measurements before I do any working out.  It'll be interesting to see if I lost anymore inches in my arm in just a few short weeks.  I think it's just been 2 weeks since she measured my arm.  Or has it only been one?  I've lost count.

Anyway, was excited I didn't completely blow my eating these past few days.

    Boot Camp Test - BOO!!

I WON NOTHING AT BOOT CAMP!!!  I can't believe that!  I was soooooo disappointed. Sad  I worked so hard not to win anything.  The problem was, even though I did more push-ups and sit-ups than some of the other people, they had a bigger overall gain.  Which means they started the boot camp with a lower number than me.  Dang it!  I'm disappointed I didn't win anything --- but

I LOST 4.8% BODY FAT!!!!  That is something to celebrate!  So I was disappointed I didn't win, but that's a lot of body fat to loose in 8 weeks!  It's hard to be too disappointed when I lost so much fat!  SO YEAH ME!! Party

Sunday I planted flowers at the church all afternoon.  No gym time.  Tonight I'm jogging.  Gotta stay on track!

    Anxiety

Tomorrow is the test for my Snap Fitness Boot Camp.  I'm nervous and excited.  I know I won't win the weight loss portion but I do think I can win the push-ups and sit-ups test.  I've been working VERY HARD on those two elements.  I'm going to try and get to the gym tonight for a Last Chance Workout.  One of the partners in our firm is leaving so we are having a going away party for him tonight.  If it doesn't last too long then I'm going to go to the gym.  I have to pick my son up from his party at 10:00 PM.  So I'm hoping that leaves me enough time to at least get my 5 mile jog in.

I'm definitely feeling better after my meltdown about my lack of actual weight loss.  I just need to stick to the eating and workout plan I discussed with my trainer.  I have one month left on the contest here at work.  I CAN DO IT!!!!

Hope everyone has a good weekend.  Taking my son mountain biking tomorrow.  Definitely looking forward to it.

    Game Plan

So I talked to my trainer last night about my frustration with the actual weight loss.  There's no doubt I'm much stronger than before.  My cardio's better.  My legs look toned.  I'm just not seeing the scale move.  Early on when I started working out with Bonnie she told me to eat something right before I worked out.  She said that if I was eating a snack at 3:00 P.M. then doing cardio for an hour and working out with her for an hour, I wasn't having enough fuel to get through the workout.  I would eat a snack at 3:00 PM then start cardio about 6:30PM and then our training session ends at 8:30PM.  For all the workout I was doing, there just wasn't enough energy there.  So I have been trying to eat a protein bar or something on my way to the gym, about 6:00 PM.  Last night she told me to eat my bar at the end of my cardio but before our training session.  She said my cardio was having to burn up the bar I ate THEN work on fat storage.  And then since the bar was burned up cardio, I had no fuel for my weight training sessions.  So I'm going to start doing my cardio then eating the bar.  Hopefully then the cardio will start working directly on fat storage and my weight will start going down quicker.

So I feel rejuvinated.  And she doesn't want me jogging 5 miles EVERY DAY.  I'm pretty consistent at working out 5 times a week.  She said to keep the jogging to those 5 days but my body really does need the other 2 days of rest.

That's what I'm going to try.  Eat AFTER cardio and workout 5 times/week.  I'm excited and refocused.  I'm hoping this works.  I really want to win the contest here at work!

    Frustration

I'm so frustrated with my weight loss.  I'm tired of this 0.5 lb loss.  Yes, it's good to have a loss.  But I feel like I work out sooooo hard to be seeing the scale move so little.  I was not letting it worry me b/c I kept thinking - I must be loosing inches.  My trainer did tell me I lost 2 inches in my arms, so that did help my mood, for a bit.  Last night I tried on some pants.  I was certain I was going to be able to wear them b/c I must be loosing inches.  Nope.  Still can't wear them.  It really depressed me.

I'm in a weight loss contest here at work.  I'm not doing that great.  I see everyone loosing 12+ pounds and I've only lost about 6.  I work out so much harder than these people do.  To work so hard and to loose less weight than them is very frustrating.  They walk around eating all kinds of stuff and I sit here eating my soup and cottage cheese.  IT'S JUST NOT FAIR!!!

But being frustrated and depressed does not fix the problem.  I need a "fix."  Our contest ends April 1.  I'm going to focus the month of March on jogging and biking.  I'm definitely going to keep going to my trainer, but instead of doing so much  elliptical work I'm going to go back to the good old basic - jogging.  I'm going to work really hard on jogging 5 miles/day, even if it means getting up at 4:00 AM to do it.  One month.  I can do that for one month.  Most days I can workout in the evenings, but on those days I just can't, I'm going to make myself get up in the morning and do it.  No excuses.  Then I'm going to add biking in at least once every weekend.  Biking really tones up your legs, especially mountain biking.  This starts TODAY.  No reason to procrastinate.  I am going to make a huge comeback this month and beat out everyone!

On a different topic, I'm having to work to come up with new food items for Misty.  Misty likes Mexican food and Mexican food.  She tries hard to like other things, she just doesn't.  That's one reason I'm not putting up elaborate meals on the food items list.  Misty won't eat it.  So don't be expecting all fancy shmancy food items.  I'm trying to think of things that she might not have thought of or might have forgotten about.  We all get in a food rut.  I'm trying to help her get out of it.

Last night's episode was so inspiring.  I really have to commend Mark for sticking by his word.  My mom was upset b/c she kept saying "It's a game!"  Sure, but the blue team made a commitment to one another not to lie.  I think it shows great integrity.  I wish more people in the world were like him.  It's definitely a game, but you still have to live with yourself.  YEAH MARK!  YOU DA MAN!!  Now, can we just get rid of Brittany already!  PLEASE!

    Catching Up

Yes, we are very excited about our new addition!  I was completely surprised!  Misty, my trainer agreed with me.  Getting set up now for PT is even better.  You will have someone monitoring you and making sure you're not overdoing (or underdoing).  Also, it will be good to get the trainer to write out the tentative exercise plan.  When you go to the DR next week she can look over it and "approve" it.  Also, don't forget to ask the DR about taking Jazzercise.

Went mountain biking Saturday with some friends.  What a great day.  I love mountain biking.  Definitely on my list of things to do more this year.  We only got in about 5 miles.  We were all tired.  I had just finished boot camp and they had just finished jogging.  So we could have done more, but decided our legs were pretty burnt out.  On the way back I missed my turn (kind of) and took a tumble off my bike.  Didn't think that much about it until I woke up Sunday with a headache.  It lasted all day Sunday and all day Monday.  I even went home early from work Monday so I could sleep.  It started feeling better last night.  I don't remember hitting my head that hard, but I guess I did.  Oh well.  Isn't the first time it's happened and it sure won't be the last!  So yesterday - no exercise for me.  Just sleeping.

Today at lunch I walked in the stairwells with my co-workers.  We did 20 up/20 down/20 up/25 down/25 up/20 down.  It took us about 35 - 37 minutes.  Remember, one of my goals is to do 36 down / 36 up / 36 down / 36 up in 40 minutes.  I think I'll be able to do that.  I'm going to do the stairs again on Thur or Fri.  I may give it a shot then.

Saturday is test day at my boot camp.  I'm so nervous.  Won't loose the weight challenge but I think I'll win the push-ups & sit-ups challenge.  I'm trying to do extra good on my food intake this week.  OMG!!  I nearly forgot!  I asked my trainer to measure my arm on Friday.  I'VE LOST 2 INCHES IN MY ARM!!!  I am so excited!  I couldn't believe it!  They'll take more measurements on Saturday at boot camp.  I'm curious to see how the fat testing goes.  God knows I have lots of fat left to loose!

I'll update my easy healthy recipes later this afternoon.  Falling behind on that.

Check out our pictures of when we went hiking.  LOOK AT MY HAIR!!  It's HUGE!!  I have naturally curly hair so whenever it gets humid or I get hot it just turns into a big afro.  Hope it makes you laugh!

PS - IS ANOTHER BLUE TEAM MEMBER GETTING KICKED OFF????   OMG!!!  WHAT'S HAPPENING TO MY TEAM????

    News

Well.  I have to say I'm a bit surprise as well as still in disbelief.  But, I found out last Thursday that I am PREGNANT!  We are very excited about the news!!  I think we threw our family out of the world!  I was afraid that when Eddie told my mother, she fainted on the other end because it went SILENT!!  Thought I was going to have to call Dusty to go over and revive her!

I went yesterday and signed up as a member at our rec center.  Today I have to go back and turn in all the paperwork for the personal trainer.  I hope, for them, it won't be an issue that I'm pregnant.  Guess I'll find out soon enough!  ~Misty

Fiber One and Chicken Salad Sandwich are great ideas!  If you find you’re not eating the whole sandwich, try using a low cal / low fat tortilla instead of the bread.  It’ll be less filling than the bread so you can eat more of the good stuff (chicken).

Still need to focus on getting something in you about 10:30.

It doesn’t have to be exact (and it doesn’t have to be a lot), but for this week, focus on eating about these times:

    8:00 – Breakfast

    10:30 – Snack

    12:30 – Lunch

    3:30 – Snack

    6:00 – Dinner

You can add a snack after dinner if you want.

One of my snacks that I REALLY like right now is the Fiber One bars.  They are SOOO yummy.  Oats & Chocolate.  It’s 35% of the daily value of fiber.  I typically have one of those as my afternoon snack.  I really don’t care for yogurt, so gagging one of those down a day would only last about 3 days before I’d be totally sick of it.  Hmmm…I really liked when I had my chicken salad sandwiches….maybe I’ll do that again…BONUS…they are REALLY cheap!

Then you should focus on eating your first snack at 10:30 AM.  Go get a bag of grapes tonight.  Wash the whole bag.  Put them in individual ziplock bags.  Take one bag each day and eat it at 10:30.  I’m talking about 15 grapes.  It doesn’t have to be a lot, just something.

So the plan is – breakfast at 8:00 AM; snack at 10:30 AM.  Even if it takes you the whole day to eat the grapes, that’s fine.  Just try for 10:30.

Um.  I get out of bed at 6:45 and am at work by 7:45.  It’s VERY hard for me to eat 1st thing in the morning.

Then keep doing it.  We just need to figure out something small for you to eat first thing when you wake up.   How much time elapses from the time you put your feet on the floor to the time you eat your first bite of cereal?

As soon as I get to work everyday.  That’s pretty much the 1st thing I do after turning on my computer.  I LOVE my cereal…so much that I’ve had it for lunch a couple times before as well!

BTW – I have been eating a banana everyday for the past week or so.  I normally have it with my cereal.  And I have milk in my cereal…does that count?

Oh, that’s a better excuse.  But still, GO EAT SOMETHING!!!

You need to get some nuts or pretzels to leave in your car.

Have you eaten anything other than cereal today?

    Be Strong

MJ, I think what I'm going to do is start a food box.  Every day I'm going to add a new food/meal/snack to that box for you to try.  See if I can't give you some ideas on different things to eat.  I know what it's like to be stuck in a food rut.  It's hard to figure out what's out there that you CAN eat.  In addition to that, I want you to try 2 things this week: 1) eat a banana everyday.  I eat mine right after I brush my teeth every morning.  Pick a time and eat the banana at the same time every day.  2) drink your milk.  Make sure you're still drinking a cup of milk every day.  8 oz, not 12 or 24 oz.  Those two small things will help boost your calorie intake and your energy level.  That's why I eat my banana first thing in the morning.  Just to help wake me up and give me some energy.  So now you have homework.  Also, I'm going to send you an email every couple hours to tell you to eat SOMETHING!  So check the food log every day for ideas, eat your banana, drink your milk and watch for your email reminder.

Yesterday I walked the stairs at lunch with some girls in my office.  We walked up 20 flights, down 20 flights, up 20 flights, down 20 flights.  It took about 25 - 30 minutes.  Part of my goal is to be able to walk up/down 36 flights of stairs.  I haven't done the stairs since I hurt my back.  Let me just say - I FELT GREAT!!!Party  I'm excited about trying to reach my goal of doing the 36 flights in 40 minutes.  I think I can do it!  I'm going to give it a shot tomorrow at lunch.  It sure makes me realize how much stronger I'm getting, even if I'm not loosing just gobs of weight.  I definitely wish the weight was coming off faster, but I feel great and healthy and that's half of the battle.

Now, for BL - OMG!  I can't believe everything Paul ate at home!  Wacko!  He drives me crazy but I just think of him as a big baffoon.  I'm so over Brittany.  I wish they would vote her off.  WAY TO GO BLUE TEAM!  I really like Dan now that he's been hanging out with the guys.  I'm rooting for them all the way.  They blew the black team completely out of the water!  Ha!  In your face, black team!  (I still love you Jillian!!)  Can't wait to see what in the world happens in Vegas!

    Go team! ~ DJ
